JoyShine File Renamer

<Overview>

Renames files with sequential numbers.
Drop the files onto the list, put them in the order the numbers should follow, type a name template, and the whole batch is renumbered in one pass.
You can check the result in the New Name column before anything happens, and Undo Last restores the previous batch.

<How to Use>

1. Drag and drop files onto the list.
   Dropping a folder adds the files directly inside it. Subfolders and the folder itself are left alone.
2. Arrange the list in the order you want it numbered.
   Click a column header to sort by it, and again to reverse. Selected rows can be moved with Move Up / Move Down.
   Sorting by name follows human reading order, so IMG_2 lands before IMG_10.
3. Type the template and set Start, Step and Digits.
4. Check the New Name column, then click Rename.
   Unusable names and clashes are marked immediately. You cannot click Rename while a mark is showing.
5. If the result is not what you wanted, click Undo Last.

<Name Template>

The template defines the new file name. The tokens <n>, <name> and <ext> are case-insensitive. Other text keeps the capitalization you type.

• <n> : The sequence number, zero-padded to Digits
• <name> : The original name without its extension
• <ext> : The original extension, leading dot included

• Start : The number the first file gets
• Step : How much the number goes up from file to file
• Digits : Width of the zero padding (1 to 10)

The original extension comes back on its own, so you rarely need to write <ext>.

With the template <name>_<n> and Start 1, Step 1, Digits 3, sunrise.jpg becomes sunrise_001.jpg and harbour.jpg becomes harbour_002.jpg.
With Kyoto_<n> and Start 10, Step 10, Digits 2, DSC00123.jpg becomes Kyoto_10.jpg and DSC00124.jpg becomes Kyoto_20.jpg.
