September 20, 2026 : Beyond the Corner

Today we went to Juen in Gion.

I wanted to look at it for a while before eating.

Kyoto vegetables. Sushi. Tuna. Salmon.
And matcha ice cream.
Served with sweet red bean paste and shiratama.
When we left, it was already night.
We walked to the Kamo River.
So many people were sitting
along the riverbank.
The Noryo Yuka platforms were lit,
and the lights of the city were reflected on the water.
So many people,
so many lights,
and right beside them,
only the river was flowing quietly.
After that, at a cafe in front of Yasaka Shrine, I ordered a latte.
A white heart on the surface.
Then, north on Higashioji Street by bike.
Partway along, we turned onto a side street and kept going north, and came out in front of the Heian Shrine.
So there was a route like this.
I have been down this street so many times,
but I only found out today.
