September 28, 2024 : The Path We All Have to Take Someday

We heard that there would be fireworks in Arashiyama today, so we went to see them by bicycle.
We went west along Oike Street, turned north at Sanjo Oike and went along Sanjo Street, then we could see the Togetsukyo Bridge.

We arrived early, so we walked around and took a break at a cafe.

We sat on the bank and waited for the fireworks to start.

Finally, the fireworks started.

I've noticed that, fireworks made of many different colors look more beautiful than those made of just one color.
Of course, each color does not realize that what they're making is beautiful, but from the outside, it definitely looks more beautiful than those made of just one color.

I think the world is like that, people with different ways of thinking, people with different religions, people with different backgrounds,
all different people come together in harmony, and something much more beautiful is born.

Flowers bloom and fall, the beautiful moment lasts only for a moment, and so it is with us human beings,
but everyone doesn't realize it, because while they are worrying about something, the moment has passed.

When we are in bloom, we worry, we struggle, and feel sad, and after the flowers have fallen, we realize that, and regret why we didn't live more happily at that time.

I wonder if someday there will be a moment when this moment, this scene will be turned into a reminiscence.
I wonder if someday there will be a moment when I want to return to this moment.

The moment will surely come someday, and I may feel sad, but there's nothing I can do about it,
because it's the path we all have to take someday, for there is no such thing as eternity.

When we were cycling home on Oike Street, an old man on a bicycle suddenly fell to the ground.
I got off my bike to see if he was conscious, called out to him and he replied weakly.
When I asked him if he could think of a reason, he said he had drunk too much.
He said he was not good with alcohol but he had drunk too much.
The man said he was fine, but his legs were wobbly and looked too dangerous to ride a bike.
I put the man's belongings, which were scattered on the ground, back into the basket of his bike and told him it would be better to walk home than to cycle.
He agreed, pushed his bike with his hands and walked away.

Today was a day of many things.
