Today is the start of the Gion Festival float processions.
I woke up in the morning and rushed to Shijo Karasuma. When I got out, it was hot, hot, hot!
I wanted to be there before 9:00AM, but it was almost 9:00AM, and I saw a taxi coming up behind me, so I got in.
The taxi was slow because of the Gion Festival, and I got out just before Karasuma Nishikikoji.
I hurried south on Karasuma Street and saw the Yamaboko floats.
While looking at the floats, I reached Shijo Karasuma.
We watched the floats for a while and then walked through the underpass to Shijo Kawaramachi Mac.
This underpass reminds me of the time when I was a student, I used to walk this street when I was in high school.
I used to get soft contact lenses from an eye doctor on Kawaramachi Street, so I would go there on a regular basis.
I would walk along Kawaramachi Street and look for some game music CDs and interesting books in the stores along the way.
At Shijo-Kawaramachi, we watched the procession of floats for a while.
Then we went back to Shijo Karasuma and I walked along Muromachi Street.
When I got home, I heard the sound of the Gion Festival bells.
Listening to the sound of the Gion Festival bells, I will sleep now.
