March 8, 2022 : I Voiced Concerns About Omicron Variant at Safety and Health Committee

I attended the safety and health committee.
During the meeting, I voiced concerns about the Omicron variant.
The Omicron variant is now prevalent in the nursing facility I'm involved with.
So far, out of more than 200 infected patients, more than 40 have been taken to the hospital by ambulance, and three have already died.
I'm really worried that so many people think that the Omicron variant is less dangerous than the original variant.
When the Delta variant was prevalent in Japan, the facilities I work for were all safe from it.
But when it comes to the Omicron variant, it's really hard to block it because of its rapid transmission.
It seems to be less serious for young people, but it's still dangerous for the elderly.
I'm really afraid of what will happen when the next variant, the Omicron BA.2 variant, hits our facilities.
